Posted this at DTW and had a few replies - not much though. I have a Kenwood amp - been used for a few years but works great. Anyways traded in the Dakota and they took out the system for me. Bad thing was that the Power supply for the amp screw was corroded in place so they cut off the cord. Now I can't get the screw off - tried slotting in new head but it keeps rounding off so I cannot attach new power cable. I think I have two options left:
1. soder new cable to terminal and whats left of the screw
or
2. Try drilling out old screw and put slightly larger one in
now I think option one would be easier but would it work okay - I don't see a reason why it would not? Any input would be appreciated, and thanks

yes you could do either one one of the things you talked about and sodering they new to the old would be easier but why not just do it right the first time and save you time other times, have you tried a easyout

Success - woo hoo Picked a set of easy outs up at Wally world - not a bad set for only eight bucks (5 different sizes). A little drilling, tappin, and wrenchin and the amp is ready to rock and roll.

well went to install everything, and just my luck the amp is ill. It goes to thermal overload immediately - so I just bought a new amp for now. Will troubleshoot my old amp and see if its repairable. System sounds pretty good, but need to get speakers to replace the stock door ones.
