who has one, and does it help? i have a MAC CAI and it does the same as my stock air box, all it did was put a 3 inch chrome pipe and a big air filter under the hood. but im sure i will notice a big increase in power this winter.

Well I have a homemade CAI just modified the intake to the stock airbox, and I noticed a difference, nothing huge, but it improved throttle respose. I still want to get a real CAI, just one that will be off road proof and not suck water in when I fly through a mud hole!! Chris

chris, i will get you a picture of my intake, they way its setup is that the filter is up front by the coolant over flow tank and the pipe is bent in a way that its angled down so that it wont suck up the water. i have put it to the test and it didnt suck up a drop.

Other than sucking water I was worried about it getting muddy all the time too, after I go muddin my engine bay is usually covered, and I don't want to have to clean the filter after everytime I go off roading, does yours get much mud on the filter itself after off roading Matt??

Never had a problem with that on thee Ford, but I havent really been through a REALLY Deep water hole yet...But its comin'!
I saw increase in Horsepower, I could feel it on the highway, I saw a better takeoff time and quicker accelleration.
better gas mileage when I stay off of it...lol
I installed the electric fans that same day, so that may have made a difference too.

You could do the TPS mod too, that helps a little on throttle response, at least on mine it did. Yea I know that was #offtopic-2#

I have an Airaid intake with a functional hood scoop. You can really tell a difference when its colder like it has been.

yeah i have notice a little bit on an increase now that the temp is dropping. but i think its stupid to pay all that money for a CAI and it only works in the winter

I've got friends that have them and they say it helps out on power. I think they look awesome and would help on fuel milage also.
