Anyone running these in their 1/2 ton yet? Still debating if I should get them or play it safe and go with 4.56s. Smallest tire I will ever run would be 35's but hoping to go up to at least 37's once I get another lift.

Right now I am running my stock 4.10s with 35" tires - nothing to bad but around the city I take the OD off and that works fine. I do plan on upgrading to 37's after I get the lift so not sure if I want 4.56s or 4.88s. I do wheelin a fair amount and have a work car for back and forth. The only issue I could see if making the trips to Michigan and back - bout 1100 miles round trip. Would 4.88s and 37's be too much rpms for 70+ mph

If that ratio is already out, then I can get them. My catalog shows availability as "Late 2005", but I'd have to call and verify they are actually ready to ship. I can also get the 4.56's, if you decide on those.
For the front, you will need a 3.92-up carrier(I have one sitting here brand new), the 4.88 R&P, and it would be a good idea to buy the master install kit(includes all bearings, races, shims, seals, etc).
For the rear, you will need the 4.88 R&P and again, it would be a good idea to have the master install kit on hand.
With 4.56's and 35" tires, you would turn 2115rpm at 70mph.
With 4.88's and 35" tires, you would turn 2263rpm at 70mph.
4.56's and 37's would be 2000rpm at 70mph. 4.88's and 37's would be 2140rpm at 70mph.

it has been a while since i did the research but last company i saw that offered 4.88 gears was US Gear
i am thinking 4.88 gears would be too much gear, 4.56 would be perfect...

I dont know...I would be leaning toward the 4.88's 2100 RPM isnt really that much, and Ill bet it'll pull up those hills without downshifting....
I wanted to run 44's with 4.88's in mine, but I guess Ill have to settle for 6.72's and 4000 rpm at 70 mph...lol

Go 4.88s! We put 4.56 in Holly's truck (tires 35s) but you plan to runn probably bigger, so I'd go 4.88s since there isn't that much of a RPM difference.
