ok excuse the crude drawing but my question is, drawing #1 on the left represents the stock upper control arm axle mount drawing #2 on the right is the mount i want to make for the upper control arm on the axle question is, do i have to have an enclosed mount like drawing 1 for the upper control arm or can i have an open mount?? the only thing that i see is that drawing # 1 limits articulation or over-articulation,

the first one has a top on it, the second one is open on the top..

yes it limits articulation...but increases strength greatly...id do this (just what id do)
