i know lots of people that run them. Killer lookin tires, and they perform well, but they are pretty loud on the road. Definatly a mud tire, but i havn't heard anyone complain about them yet.

The terra grappler is an AT, not a MT. Their MT is the mud grappler. I liked my set of terra grapplers a lot, but they wore really poorly. Like 20k mile, which is really bad for an AT. I have talked to a lot of people who have them though, and hardly anyone has had the same experience as me, so I suspect I just got part of a bad batch or something. I would try them again for the right price, but I'd definitely look at the Toyo and BFG AT's also.

I would go with the BFG's myself. Or the SWAMPER BOGGER or LTB RADIALS for mud.

thanks for the replies. i dont need a mud tire, but an all terrain tire. for the price the nitto terra grappler is a good deal from what i have head. the bfg is a nice tire but way over priced i think. and i would get htne swampers but dont they wear kinda fast? and they are still on the pricey side

I just bought a set a few weeks ago and just put them on this past weekend on my 18" Boyd's. I've never ran them before but have been told they are a nice all around tire. I know they ride smooth on the highway and have No, notta, none..road noise. When I got them balanced the guy told me of a new thing he had to balance them out with so I asked about it and he showed me a bag of like sticky sand in like 7-9 more little bags that he dumps in the tire before sealing them on the beads and then you drive down the road for about 10 minutes ...enough to get the tire warm and the material finds the spots to cling to and it balances the tire perfectly. I did all 4 like this and so far it seems like a great idea, It rides smooth....no wobble nothing. I was surprised at the way it was going to work but he told me he has installed it on 5 trucks since he got them in January and has had no complaints. So now my new wheels look super sharp without having to have wheel weights lining the back of them.....

Sounds like a great concept. I'm not sure how long those tires would last you goin down the road though. Dunno just my opinion.

He told me the name of it and I forgot it...I'll be going by there this week sometime because he was ordering locks for me this week. I'll be sure to ask him the name again.
As for the tires lasting I'll have to see, but he explained to me that it was going to be rough for about 10 minutes and it was about maybe 5 miles later that it did straighten out and ran smooth ever since. Drove it alot yesterday around and it never wobbled a bit! I watched him do it on all 4. He took a large bag that had the smaller ones in it and opened it , poured the little ones in the tire, blew it up on the rim and installed it on the truck. He explained that the little ones "explode" once the tires heat and the sand like material goes to the correct position in the tire and it sticks to the inner of the tire and stays there and the balance of it keeps rotating till it gets seated also and then its balanced......So far its been great and I just had the truck aligned so long as it isn't wearing and wobbling I'm happy. While I was there getting mine done a customer came in with a F-350 and he installed his tires {39.5's on 14" wide wheels} and that was back in January. I asked him what he thought of the idea and he said he's had no problems or complaints...truck rides great he said.

that sounds like an interesting way in balancing tires... do you know anything lse about how they did it or what its called ? Just went there today and got my locks and the stuff is named "equal tire balance" don't know if you can get it anywhere without being a tire store but I'm sure you could somewhere if it was looked for hard enough. He wouldn't tell me where he gets it...lol...says it was his secret.

my next set of tires are goin to be 38/15.50/15 Nitto mud grapplers. they may be more expensive, but i've heard that they last really good. i have 35" ssrs now and they wear good, but im lookin for something with a mt tread design that will last a little longer, so im goin to try a set of mud grapplers.

frnklwrnr, I am running the equal in my tires and had them balanced at a truck stop also! Equal works good in my books.
