I was wondering what everyone thought of the Maxxis Bighorn's for my truck in the 305/70/17 for $605 dollars mounted and balanced...I would really appreciate you advice. Also what kind of treadlife, noise, and gas mileage drop can I expect?

I moved up the ladder before these tires came out, and I have not seen or worked with them.
I hear MAXXIS are a good tire, we sold them at the shop I started out in, but I am somewhat uneducated on the Bighorn.

I told you what I knew about them already, but my buddy whose got the Bighorns on his truck said the same thing you just said. He said that when he was looking at the Mudders and the Bighorns next to each other they had the same tread pattern, it's just that the Bighorns had the sidewall pattern. From what I've seen him do with them they work well. I watched him pull a backhoe through the mud (not deep mud, just construction site mud) and they didn't slip. I drove his truck the other day on the road and they felt normal. Just out of curiousity, have you looked at the Firestone Desination M/T. While they don't make a 305 they do make a 265 and they look sweet.
