why is it that the 6" IFS Kit really isnt a fully 6"

I bought a 6 inch suspension lift from Rocky mountian suspension (Doetsch Suspension) and once it was a said and done I think it measured about 5 1/4 inch... Now mine was a 2wd, not to sure if that had something to do with it.....

i know it's differn't but i did get 5" out of my fabtech lift on my 3500

yeah if you have a 6" on the new body style chevy's is still looks tiny... now if you get one on the old body style its actually 6 inches.... i just don't understand... thats why i'm always looking to go bigger with my truck..

I know what you mean. After installation it looks like it still needs to be a little higher. There is a guy on dodgetruckworld.com that has this lift with a 3" body lift and it looks sweet. Its pretty tall. Looks close to a 10" lift from the pics.
