lol - wow that sounds all to familiar, I am the same way. It sucks though cause all the money that gets wrapped up into building a ride. Ever think about getting an older rig, or possible a slight wrecked one and build that. You wouldn't be paying as much, you could take your time and do a lot of custom painting, and build it from the ground up. That way you could still keep the silverado and drive that while you are building this new toy. One of the worst feelings I think is seeing the truck you built drive away with a different owner.

Definitly sucks to see somebody else drive away in a truck you love, then it's even worse to see it later and see that they haven't taken care of it, or modded in the wrong way and made it look like crap or something like that. If you want to stay chevy I would keep what you have now and go with and old chevy pre-88 and IFS, the lifts and parts are pretty cheap, and you can pick the trucks up cheap too and without all the computer crap you can put about any engine you want in it. I myself wouldn't mind having an old 3/4 ton suburban with a 454 to work on.

I am with the other guys, keep your truck and buy a beater and make one big bad trail machine, mud machine, or what ever type to machine you want a drag truck even, I know if I had the money I would buy a old solid front axle Toyota and sup it up!

i have no problem with other peoples trucks, but since your looking for opinions, id sell the chevy and keep away from them if i kept planning on have a lifted truck...the tie rods and cvjoints are just not even close to "up to par"...and thats not the words you want to hear if you are thinking about buying that in a diesel version.
otherwise, awesome motors and trannies...just not my thing
so i say sell and buy something new and different but its just me

First thanks for everyone's opinions it really does help make a decision..
I'll do reply's to everyone in order,
offroadram ~ Yeah i go threw these kinda things all the time were i wanna get rid of something and get something new.... i just wish i had loads and loads of money so i could always aford building something up and then getting rid of it, I have been lookinf for a pre 1970's chevy k-10 20 or 30 to restore and mak ungodly beautiful but i can't find on ANYWHERE
kc8ksg ~ Same thing i said above, if i could find a truck i would want to keep my silverado and just build up one of them,
yomuda ~ Same things as above,
Triplet ~ Right now i have my silverado which is my nice looking truck, I do have a drag truck its an s-10 with a 400 small block so i got that taken care of already, i have a peice of crap mud truck that i just beat the piss out of, so really i'm just looking for somthing new to build to make really clean and nice, but if i kept my silverado i'd want to do an older truck,
biggreen ~ i like your attitude, but i'm a chevy man always have been always will be, i do agree motors and trannies are killer but tie rods, ball joints, cv shafts alllll of that junk goes worthless and brakes after i lift them, so if i do keep my truck it will go solid axle just don't know when, but if it goes solid axle i'm in need of buying a car cause getting 8 mpg just sucks,
So update on the situation and where i am standing so far,
If i do decide to keep the truck it will have a solid axle under the front withing the next year most likely,
Right now it looks like i am leaning towards keeping it..like offroadram and kc8ksg said, its the worst feeling to see somehting you built drive away with sumone else, and it kills you to see someone not take care of it or let it go downhill, so having that in mind i don't think i could ever see my silverado looking like crap, itd make me wanna go make the person who bought it look like crap,
Thanks alot everyone, if any more people have opinions or idea's they are still welcome, my mind still isn't made up
Also if any one knows where there's a pre 71' chevy K10 K20 or K30 for sale, in not so great condition, motor and tranny not needed, let me know no matter where its at,
Thanks guys,
Joel

The custom camper must be an option, probably why its 2 wheel drive and has a 402 big block. May be a nice swap for the lifted 3/4 ton though. The 71 chevy looks to have maybe 4" of lift - the GMC is kinda blocking it in the pic.
Location is Muncie Indiana
Phone number is: 765-281-0669, 765-348-4377
Also the truck for sale next to these is this - just noticed: 1968 3/4 ton, original 18000 miles, 307, 4spd, plow, very little rust, garage kept, A title - minimum bid $4000
This one is located in National City, MI 989-469-3177

If its a 67-72 chevy, gmc body style your lookin for, all ya gotta do is take a road trip to OKLA or North Tex. We have those trucks everywhere, any price range. Ive seen em from $500 farmer truck to $10,000 show truck, but you can buy em all day long for $3000.

I'll check the papers and the trader mags and put the word out. You might be able to download Auto Trader from OK, TX, KAN and NEW MEX to look, and check major newspaper classifieds in those states.
